BIOFEEDBACK BREATH PROJECT
In digital art and technology, SVAIY ART INDUSTRIES, led by founder Vadym Lorens, has taken a significant leap forward with the Tree of Life — Biofeedback Breath Project. This innovative project combines the power of biofeedback, breathwork, and digital art to create a unique experience promoting relaxation and meditation.
Introduction
The project’s primary goal was to develop a visual concept for an experiment involving digital scenes and responsive biofeedback with visuals and sound. The client sought a talented animator who could bring this vision to life, with the quality of work demonstrated in similar projects serving as a benchmark.
Challenge
The main challenge was to create a visual app that would work on breath algorithms, with an animation about six minutes in length featuring the tree and nature—the final project aimed to correct breath using visual and audio patterns, promoting relaxation and meditation.
Solution
The team at SVAIY ART decided to move away from abstraction and focus more on natural visual experiences, such as trees, landscapes, rivers, mountains, and forests. The central plot of their idea was a tree that symbolized the person using the app. After the visual part was completed and approved, the team faced challenges integrating breath algorithms from the Spyros device. However, thanks to the Spyros team’s collaborative efforts, they merged the algorithms with their internal app, allowing users to change the video just by breathing.
Outcome
The project was completed and showcased at London South Bank University. Origami developed ‘Breathe & Create’ as an immersive platform dedicated to helping people build resilience. This platform combines guided breath exercises, immersive sound (Tom Middleton), biofeedback (Spyras), and generative art experiences (SVAIY ART).
